Read&Write for Google Chrome and OrbitNote Step-by-Step Installation Guide
Step 1: Sign into Google Chrome and/or Google Drive - sign into Google Drive using
your school or university email address.
Step 2: Install the extensions - visit the following links to install the needed extension.
For each, click Add Extension. Refresh your browser once installed and go to your
Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account.

Step 3: Pin Extensions to Your Toolbar - click the
puzzle piece on the right side of your Chrome
Browser toolbar. Find each of the three installed
extensions, and click the Push Pin icon next to each. The
extensions will show up in your Chrome Browser toolbar.
Step 4: Open and Sign-In to Read&Write for Google
Chrome - click the Read&Write for Google Chrome

email is through and enter your college or university email
address.

Opening PDFs in OrbitNote
Option 1:
Visit orbit.texthelp.com - the first time you visit, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your
Microsoft or Google based school email account. Accept the permissions by clicking the Allow button. Once the OrbitNote Dashboard opens, you have a variety of ways to open PDF files.
Drag and Drop a PDF file onto the OrbitNote Dashboard tile to open a PDF file in OrbitNote.
You can also click the Choose File option to access PDFs on your computer or use the Open PDF from Google Drive or Open PDF from OneDrive which will lead to your Google Drive or OneDrive account. Find the PDF file within the chosen account to open in OrbitNote.
Option 2: Open up your PDF from within Google Drive - in your Google Drive, double click on a PDF. At the top of the page click Open with ⏷ and select OrbitNote. The PDF will open in OrbitNote automatically.
Option 3: Open PDFs from within OneDrive - in your OneDrive account, right click on the PDF, choose Open and then choose Open in browser. Once opened, locate the OrbitNote icon in the upper left corner of the PDF file. Click on the OrbitNote icon to have the PDF opened in OrbitNote.
