You should now be able to connect to VPN using your Queens credentials.

IMPORTANT:  The VPN login progress will stop at 40% waiting for you to accept a security certificate pop up and to check your Duo Security App to approve the login attempt. Sometimes the security message will appear behind other windows.

  • FortiClient_4.JPG

Additionally, Forticlient will not notify you to check your Duo security app to approve the log in, it will simply pause the progress bar until that is accepted or it times out. If it times out during this part, you will receive a invalid login error.

Troubleshooting

Common problems and how to troubleshoot.

Invalid Credentials Error.

Double check that you accepted the security certification message and approved your Duo security login in the app.

If you are not getting either of those prompts. We recommend a password reset, You can do this yourself by visiting mypassword.queens.edu

Once you've reset your password, try logging into the VPN once more.

VPN disconnections

Sometimes disconnections happen and it's always inconveniencing to have to log back in repeatedly. Unfortunately our troubleshooting is limited with this issue. There are many parts to the internet out of our control that are between the Queens network and your remote location.

You can try the following to help with disconnections

Reset your internet connection.

Restart your computer.

If you are on a hotspot, try restarting the hotspot device

My drives are not showing/reconnecting.

If you know your Drive path, please CLICK HERE for instructions on how to manually reconnect your network drives.

If you don't know your drive path, your supervisor may have the same drive and you can get the path from them or you can contact the IT Help Desk.
