How to Record Classroom Lecture Using Kaltura

  1. log into the mycourses course that you would like to add a video recording to
  2. Click Administration on the right-hand side of the page
  3. Click the Turn editing on button
  4. Under the desired week or class session, click the link to Add an activity or resource
  5. Select Kaltura Video Resource and click Add
  6. Enter a name for the video resource you are about to record
  7. Click the Video button
  8. Under Media Type, click Upload Media or Record From Webcam
  9. Click Add Media
  10. Click Webcam
  11. Select your Webcam (Microsoft LifeCam Studio) from the drop-down menu.  If it is not already selected (Note: There must be a webcam present in the room in order to capture classroom lecture video. Webcams are currently installed in Sykes 220, 226, 320 and 326.)
  12. If prompted, click to allow Kaltura access to your Camera and Microphone
  13. Click the Record button when you are ready to record
  14. When you are finished recording click Stop
  15. Click Next
  16. Enter the title and optional description of the video (Title can be the same as above)
  17. Click Next
  18. Once video processing is complete, the video will be accessible for viewing (Note: processing time will depend upon the length of the recording.)
  19. Click Save and Return to Course or Save and Display to view the recording
